Yesterday I drove 750 miles from Bozeman to Portland. My car’s air conditioner stopped working when I arrived in Montana, so I spent twelve hours in the car rolling the windows up and down, trying to trick myself into thinking the blasts of air coming in were cool. When I arrived in PDX, I went straight to Reed College to hang out with my friends at the Tin House Summer Writer’s Workshop.* It was a late night. This morning I’m relaxing with coffee, the paper, and a bunch of succulents.

*I attended the Tin House writer’s workshop in 2007 and 2008. I highly recommend it.
